Shirley Sue Welch Grizzard

Mrs. Shirley Sue (Welch) Grizzard, age 87 of Clarksville Tennessee was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday March 26, 2024 at Tennova Medical Center in Clarksville Tennessee.

She was born June, 22, 1936 and lived in the Sango community of Montgomery County. She is the daughter of the late Alsey Willard Welch and Mary Lou (Blackard) Welch. She is a graduate of Clarksville High School class of 1954. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville Tennessee. She retired from AT&T telephone company with 35 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Rex Eldon Grizzard and her sister Alice Lorraine (Welch) Burton. She is survived by her loving devoted daughter Pamela Sue (Grizzard) Cochran and son-in-law John Alexander Cochran of Fort Myers, Florida. She is also survived by her brother Ronald Welch Sr. of Benton, Kentucky and many nieces and nephews which she lovingly adored.

Sue's interests included outdoor gardening, planting, and growing many beautiful flowers including Iris, Daffodils, Impatients, Peonies, and Hostas. She especially enjoyed using the computer keeping up with current and community events. A favorite pass time was to remember friends and family with cards on special occasions.

Funeral service to be held at Neal Tarpley Parchman on Saturday March 30, 2024 at 2:30 PM with Bro. Roger Freeman officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 12:30 PM until the hour of service.  Burial service to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville.
